White Oak Dental Welcomes Dr. Julia Black, DDS
Since moving into our new, larger office last year and seeing a significant growth in the number of new patients, White Oak Dental is expanding our staff in order to meet growing demand.
With that in mind, we are proud to announce that Dr. Julia Black, DDS, has joined our team and will begin seeing patients in March 2024.
Originally from California, Dr. Julia moved to the Ooltewah area when she was 10. By the time she was a teenager, she knew she wanted to pursue dentistry.
“I went on a mission trip in high school and got to rotate through a dental clinic,” says Dr. Julia. “I loved the direct impact dentistry made in the community and the immediate satisfaction patients received.”
Dr. Julia completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale before pursuing a degree in dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Southern California. She joins White Oak Dental after serving on the staff at Castle Dental in Hixson from 2019 to 2023.
“I’m right at home serving my home community,” she says. “I love the area I grew up in, and working in my hometown allows me to continue connecting with the people in this community while being close to family.”
Dr. Julia’s husband, Dr. Cullen Black, MD, earned his medical degree at Loma Linda School of Medicine, and currently serves as a hospitalist at Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge, Tennessee. The couple’s son Mac was born in 2023.
In her free time, Dr. Julia enjoys “anything outdoors,” like hiking, going for walks, playing tennis, and boating in the summer. She also loves reading, strolling through Target, baking, trying new foods and restaurants — especially for brunch — and watching any true crime show.
But mostly she enjoys “hanging out with my little fam whenever I can!”
We’d like to welcome Dr. Juila to White Oak Dental and welcome you to make an appointment with her.
